There are so many factors that make up a whole person, a whole world, an entire ecosystem………and every single part is important and plays a vital role. I’m still not entirely clear on the role of cockroaches, but anything that is that good at surviving must be here for a reason! At times I get a glimpse into that amazing complexity and find myself presented with the paradox that, while it is full of unique and varying qualities, it really is all one.
I know you’ve heard the cliché a thousand times but if you explore altered states of consciousness by whatever means, you will encounter that experience of unity, of being connected to everything. Anyone who’s been in love knows what that feels like, the world is a beautiful place full of a glowing inner light, and everything is a poem to delight.
Fortunately there are many different doorways to that place of bliss and ecstasy; otherwise we would be dependant upon other people to take us there. Of course most people still think that is the only way to get there which results in great joy and great suffering, and big dollars for those who sell the fantasy of the perfect love whether it be on the Hollywood silver screen, a romantic novel, or the latest model car. We live in a world where love has become another commodity and then we wonder why we feel so empty.
I feel that love every day of my life, but it has not always been the case I can assure you and it doesn’t mean that I don’t have darker moments. That love is my essential nature and I have spent the last 12 years clearing away everything that I could find that was in the way of my own shining light. My pit was deep and I am still shovelling the crap out of the way, but at last it has shifted from a process of suffering to one of gratitude and joy.
And so I have found love within myself, it springs from the fact that I am in exactly the right place, in the perfect moment, which is NOW, which is NOW, which is NOW………… I surrender to the call of Spirit and open to the connection with my Beloved in the flesh, oh yes I do indeed desire an earthly partner, but I was not ready until now. They say that when the student is ready the teacher will come, so it shall be with my beloved, as I open to life with passion and purpose and great joy!
Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.
