My current view is a little bit more suburban but here are some of those lovely green Maleny Hills.
I sit looking out at a scene that I will not see again in this way after we have moved on in a couple of weeks. Morning light on green trees, chill air and birds enjoying their Sunday morning. It’s much darker where we are going, a big space that is awaiting our creativity and will require a fair amount of time and focus. Part of me is asking Spirit why, why this move at this time? My mind keeps wandering off to other places and I find myself picking up my book and starting to read again before I remember that I am doing something. Moving is a lot of work and I always work better with a firm purpose or intention, mind you having a cosy nest with my Beloved is probably reason enough for anything that we need to do to get there. But I’m human and I like to know why sometimes so I asked the question and tuned in.
What came through finally after I’d finished being distracted, was the idea of being interconnected, particularly in the community in which we live my love and I. It is a wonderful community and we have already experienced Spirit bringing us things we will need for our new home. In the Love Bubble that my Beloved and I swim in there sometimes seems not a lot of need for other people. That can never be true of course and we are not complete hermits or anything like that but we do supply rather a lot of each others needs. So moving into a situation where we have to connect with our immediate and even the wider community as we seek to make our new home is a useful reminder of how important these connections are. Spirit, the Guru, whatever you want to call it, will always bring us something that will aid us in our spiritual development.
We may not always like all aspects of where the flow of Spirit takes us as we evolve and grow in the best way that we know how. But I do know for sure that by looking for the gifts in each new experience I am far more likely to flow into great outcomes and to be surprised by how perfectly everything turns out, in ways I never expected! And so it will be with this move, I just hope I get over eating to manage some of the anxious feelings before I become the size of a house! The new space has room to set up a healing area so maybe I can get inspired into a daily yoga and meditation practice, that would be incredibly awesomely wonderful! Aho!
Wildflowers in Spring!
My Beloved and I are looking after a beautiful place for a few weeks and it has come at rather a critical time in our mutual unfolding. It seems easier here somehow to put in the time to meditate, to dance and to reflect upon the vision which is growing like wildflowers in the Spring time. And lo and behold it is indeed Spring so we are in sync with the seasons! We are growing our vision and writing some of it down in a very special book with handmade paper and a purple jewel on the cover, that was a gift for our commitment ceremony.
Our very special vision book!
My intention to begin training in preparation for the 10 day Vipassana retreat next year is providing a great platform for exploring what is going on within myself. I sat in meditation for two lots of 20 minutes, the first one was sitting unsupported and simply watching the breath and the body. And of course coming back from the distractions, watching where my thoughts were going. In the second one I wanted to look at obstacles to receiving abundance which brought my awareness to my uneasy belly. I could feel the fear moving out of the cells of my body and it left me with the sense of being more present and available.
So it is not so much about ‘doing’ although of course action does need to follow intention, it is to do with ‘being’ whatever it is you are passionate about. Put that out into the world as clearly as I can and then let people find me. It felt like a warm and cosy space where I am comfortable being myself and where all my needs are met with ease and grace. And it does help enormously that I have a partner who is on the same page and who is working with similar or the same issues. We bring our similarities and our differences to the table and from that we have an incredibly rich resource from which to create.
We also live in an amazing community and I felt into that in my meditation even before I began focusing on what was leaving my body. There were lovely people building and painting outside and hearing the sounds and feeling the gorgeous energy of where we are living got me all warm and fuzzy in my heart space. Having supportive and open people around you is so important when you are wanting to grow and evolve upon the spiritual path. I think it is going to be a very powerful time here in paradise, I will keep you posted so until next week…… namaste!
There is a feeling of great satisfaction to be found in finally getting on with tasks that you have been wanting to do for ages but can’t quite seem to find the time for. It is much easier to think and be creative in a space that has some order to it and having beautiful things to gaze upon has also become incredibly important to me over the years. Our physical environment is an important reflection of how we think about ourselves, even if someone else picked it all out that very fact says a lot about you.
At night my Beloved and I love to light candles all around the room and turn the lamps off, candlelight is not only more romantic than electric it is also softer. Of course you need good light to read by but how about scheduling in times where you have the softness of candles warming the space. Quiet time with no television or computers, time where you simply sit with your thoughts and feelings and allow yourself to be rather than do. I go on about this sort of thing a lot and yet even I notice resistance in myself when contemplating time spent in this fashion.
We live in a culture where it is all about doing, not surprising when you consider the ways in which society is dominated by the masculine. As we come into balance as a civilisation it is important to learn how to value ‘being’ as much as we do action. The best way that I can do this is by embodying this principle in my own life, not just when I am with my Beloved, but when I am on my own. So I will consider how best I can achieve this, regular sitting meditation is probably a good place to start. I am booked in for a 10 day Vipassana at the end of January next year so getting into training is probably a good idea!
I will keep you posted on my progress, even as I am writing this I can feel resistance so it is going to take some focus and a strong intention. Perhaps I will actually make a statement here, to be doing at least four sessions of meditation a week by the beginning of December.
My Beloved emerged with birthing pains as I reached deep into myself and found the Mother in me with roots deep in the ground. So connected to the earth I was able to weather the storm and hold the space until he was safely out of that dangerous threshold between life and death. You do not always have to die in order to discover your deepest fears, call upon the Gods and they will answer you but it may not always be in the way that you might expect.
I have found my strength in the journey of trust that my Beloved and I have walked hand in hand, it is beginning to go deeper yet. The more that you trust the more that your life will flow along the course of the intention that you have set. The intention is important, to have a vision of what you are creating held before you in some way, shape or form. Of course the flow of synchronicity may go through what seem like ups and downs but it is always heading towards the best possible result.
The constant sea of change is in full flow and there is still a great deal of uncertainty but a safe port has been found and the port, no the ports in the storm have been lovely! Confused? Well so am I, feel free to read over the last few posts if you would like to catch up on the shifting sands of my recent existence. Lots of reasons to be very grateful at the amazing life I get to lead and time to go to bed so I can step into a brand new chapter tomorrow!
See you in the dawn light of that new day my friends, hooray!
The life I have chosen to lead teaches me all the time about impermanence, the shape of where I am going to live always fluid. Now we are making a bigger shift as my Beloved and I begin the search for a new place to call home base. Somewhere to keep our stuff and to be at when we are in between house sits, ’twill be interesting to see what the next shape of our anchor is going to look like. I have fears that come up around this kind of change but more and more they are small and not so hard to let go of. Feels like there is a knowing in me that knows perfectly well that if we trust the flow we will move on to exactly where we need to be, in Divine Timing.
The thing is to marry the intuitive feeling into the shape and texture of the future, to the action that is required to carry this intention out into the world. The word is going out as we print up flyers, as social media gathers and connects us to community. So the energy goes out, seen and unseen, a new vision is birthing into vibrant manifestation! To be alive is to be changing constantly, how much more interesting than any soap opera is the inner view that is available for our perception if we so desire. And to see the shifting sands of life as exciting and full of potential creates the kind of mood that does bring great good fortune!
Hooray for change and for my graceful and easy passage through her shifting currents, at sail on the sea of desire with my Beloved…… life is good.
I generally begin a reading with the question, “Is there anything particular you would like to focus on? Some folks have very specific questions they want answered while others may simply be looking for a little direction or guidance. Curiosity or a sense that having a reading might be a good idea can also draw people to seek me out. If they don’t have a specific issue or question then I often say to them to, “Hold the question ‘what do I need to know'” in their mind’s eye, as they handle the cards. So having some kind of intention is a very good place to start, it’s something that is helpful in any process where you are exploring the inner realms.
The next step is for me to open myself up to spirit as I ask for how many cards are required in the spread. Then when they have been chosen I lay them out intuitively, the pattern is rarely exactly the same. If I am doing a reading online or by phone I am a little less formal with the cards and will often pull them out as I go, whichever the medium the message is the same. The cards are a focus but what you get is much more than simply an explanation of the meaning of a particular card. The same card can turn up in different people’s readings and even though it has a certain ‘feel’ to it, what I say to each person may be quite different. I don’t ‘think’ about it with my mind, I allow my intuitive self to open and allow the information to come rolling in. It is a capacity that we all have but like anything the more that you practice it the better you get.
From this point the reading will take shape according to many factors, in a way each reading I do has its own life and shape. I may do most or all of the talking, or my client may have lots of questions about what is coming up. Even if I am doing most of the talking it is very much an interactive process with a deeper exchange occurring below the surface level of words and the conscious mind. You can ask as many questions as you like, more and more I find strong and clear responses coming through and if there is any uncertainty about which way something might go that is usually clear as well. I always try to be as honest as I can about what I am saying, if it looks tough then I do call a spade a spade!
We are all connected by energy in a quantum universe.
I’ve also done quite a few readings for couples, some newly weds and they always seem quite delighted with the process. Luckily I didn’t see any break ups for any of those couples, but if it was there I would find a way to convey the message. Even the challenges in my readings can be seen as opportunities to expand and grow, sometimes letting go can be a part of that. We might indeed need to consider ending a relationship or friendship, sometimes we are letting go of our own limiting beliefs. I am reminded of the chinese character for crisis, there are two symbols, one means danger and the other opportunity.

So if you are a seeker looking for guidance on your path, if you are simply curious, go to the contact page and either send me an email or a text with details of how you would like to connect with me for a reading.
I sit here surrounded by a beautiful chaos, there is order and where it is not so you will find a view of gorgeous fabrics. A purple and silver sari draped over various massage related bits and pieces, above it a much darker purple belly dance scarf with two rows of silver coins. My Beloved’s paintings are now around us, just a few examples, full of vibrant colour and abstract shapes and forms. They seem very much like the expression of energies moving and much of his inspiration for the work has come through inner journeying.
There are three permanent altars in the space and probably would be even if we didn’t sometimes see clients here. Personal ritual can be a very powerful process, making an altar can be such fun! It can also be used as a focusing tool, by that I mean a ceremony that you bring intention to. And it has the capacity to shift your vibration into greater health, taking you from tired and grumpy to calm and inspired. Whatever shift you desire can be greatly assisted by the right kind of routine, and by that I mean the one that works for you. As we often used to say when I was studying counselling, you are the expert in your own life.
Might also be useful to tune into the colours around you and see if you can get a sense of how it feels to look at something red, or blue or green or yellow. And all of the other shades that are possible in a myriad of forms, nature abounds with huge variety and amongst man-made things in the world there are some very beautiful things one can have around the place. I have had the experience of walking beneath a sky that was a certain shade of deep blue and actually feeling the energy from that colour pouring into me. It felt great and even though I can’t tell you in words exactly what I was getting from it, I knew that it was just what I needed at the time because it felt so very right!
So remember to try to have a little fun in your life even when it gets a bit challenging, probably especially then as a matter of fact. For me having a spiritual path is what helps me navigate whatever waters I am sailing through. And things like making altars and playing with colours are part of a vast array of practices that can not only support your personal growth, but also help to keep your inner child happy and well.
Yay! The rich feast which is LIFE!
