A Charming Life: Pleasure And Responsibility.

Here are the four sisters from "Charmed", one left and lo and behold another sister!

Here are the four sisters from “Charmed”, one left and lo and behold another sister!

I’m feeling very irresponsible, I want to watch episodes of “Charmed” rather than write  this post! I don’t watch television except for shows sometimes on my computer or on dvd, but it can be a rather wonderful way to switch off. I just can’t handle ads interrupting the program, so much better to watch at your convenience and pause when answering calls of nature.

There are actually some tv shows around that are very high quality, with profound social messages, and sometimes it is a bit of fun or fluff that is pure entertainment.  “Charmed” falls mostly into the latter category, with an occult theme there will often be some kind of message going on but for the most part it is good stories and witchy action in designer clothes. All three characters are gorgeous, each in their own way, and I enjoy looking at beauty as much as the next person.

There is something about pleasing yourself and not taking life too seriously that really enhances the enjoyment of life. It’s a balance between really enjoying life and attending to the necessities of daily existence, tax for instance. If you would like to have a really good belly laugh on that subject as a matter of fact, I suggest you watch the first episode of  “Black Books” with Dylan Moran, I’ve seen it more than once and don’t get sick of it.

And with that I am going to go and watch my show, before my Beloved comes home, somehow I don’t think the beautiful clothes and spells will do a lot for him. We watch “Lord of the Rings” and the friday night football, the “IT “Crowd is also hilarious and fun to share the laughter with another.

As I keep saying, life is good!

Is Twitter For The Birds?

There’s a little ball of anxiety spinning around in my belly looking for reasons to be worried, at the moment it’s focused on having to get posts written ahead because of the busy time I have coming up, starting tomorrow night with work. Actually it was trying to get my sim card to work in my new smart phone that really got it started, there is a special kind of frustration when you don’t quite know what you are doing with technological stuff. I’m much better versed in the more emotional kind of stuff, please Goddess send me a ten-year old to help me with this issue!

I probably sound like a Luddite don’t I, they were a group of artisans during the Industrial Revolution who protested against the new machinery that threatened to replace them with unskilled labour, it’s now a term used to refer to those who are anti technology. Well that isn’t me, once I get that sim card working I’m going to have heaps of fun working out how to get the best out of my new phone.

Technology in the guise of social media is actually having an incredibly positive effect on our culture, the global village has never been so well-connected as it is today. To be a Luddite now would be to behave like an ostrich and bury your head in the sand, the trick is to use these new pathways constructively as tools to bring us all closer together in a positive way.

Laughter is a great way to create happy energy so please have a look at this incredibly silly video that purports to be a trailer for a movie about Twitter, an aspect of social media that is still a mystery to me at this point in time. Hope you enjoy, tweet, tweet!

Humour Me Into Ecstasy!

Bursting with life, those energy levels are right back up even as I sink into my misty moon time, feeling the life force surging even as I fall into soft layers of myself. Like the softest velvety petals of a rose, I receive me with all the love and tenderness that my heart can hold, and my heart is boundless, so there is no end to it. The field of love expands and expands, and connects with other fields until we are all joined in that loving tapestry which is the consciously created life, which is living in the ecstatic state that all flesh is heir to.

There is no lack in this place, all needs are met and communication flows so that we may understand each other, at the deepest levels of the soul. Allowing all to be in the place they have chosen to be, even if that choice is to exist in the small cage like shell of the ego. There is no wrong and there is no right, only that which is as it is, the truth is in each moment like the gleam of sunshine on the waves, shifting as we shift, moving in and out as the tides do, bringing us into alignment with who we be.

“O, wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world,
That has such people in’t!”
―    William Shakespeare,    The Tempest

Let’s create this brave new world so that Miranda’s words may become true perception of what we humans can become, the next stage of evolution for these:

” ape-descended life forms” that “are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.”
―    Douglas Adams,    The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

And above all always remember to see the humour in everything, some of the wisest people on the planet are our comedians, the Dalai Lama always seems to be smiling at something, laughter is the best medicine, don’t take yourself too seriously. Do laughter yoga and smile as often as possible, fill your being with dancing motes of hilarity and you will walk lightly upon this planet and through your life.

Shanti, shanti, shanti, peace, peace, peace……………………..

I’ve put this clip up before but it fits so perfectly and some of you may not have seen it, Bill Hicks with “It’s just a ride”:
