Well there has been a percolation indeed! Our beautiful exploration of the Divine Dance between the masculine and the feminine was well received and I personally had a wonderful dance, exactly what I have been missing. I can’t be the only one, we might have to put some focus into getting the message out further afield. After all we are part of a region, part of the state, the country, our planet Earth, or Gaia as she is sometimes known. Which leads me perfectly into the next part of my journey, a flow that is unfolding so beautifully, my deep sense of how I am connected to everything.

And this is going to be the essence of the theme of our next dance which will occur on the night of the full moon in Gemini, communication features heavily with this star sign. So our theme of the interconnectedness of all things is a great concept for that full moon energy to flow into our ocean of love. The playlists tend to be rather organic but I do think that humour is always good here and there, one can get a bit serious sometimes. And some good solid dancing to groovy rhythms and soulful beat, music you can be deliciously lost in, body surrendered to the sound, you become the sound in movement.

Mmmmmm……… I reckon there could be some pretty wild music and fun to be had dancing your heart and your soul, letting the body guide you in what will support you. I look forward to creating the sonic landscape with my Beloved, we always have so much fun! And we learn a lot too, stuff comes up and we engage with a process to clear it. There are lots of ways to move energy in the body, our favourite therapy is our relationship as a spiritual practice. And sometimes we might simply open our hearts and talk to each other, being witnessed on a deep level is very powerful.

Dancing Lovers.

I could go on but it’s time to go now, there are many gardens to tend and I need to go to a different one now. Farewell my virtual friends!

Movement As A Meditation: The Journey Within.

Hey this looks like an awesome place to dance! http://www.ecstaticdanceseattle.com/

Hey this looks like an awesome place to dance! http://www.ecstaticdanceseattle.com/

The dance was a journey that we all enjoyed, the small group of seasoned dancers all expressing their delight at the opportunity to let loose in any way they choose. It’s a kind of moving meditation where you are letting your body respond to the soundscape, moving through different scenes as the music takes you on a journey into the self. It isn’t so often that we get much space to move around when dancing out in the world, and there are usually people watching which changes the experience.

ecstaticdancerTo dance in a darkened space with very soft lighting, everyone is focused on their own flow of movement so each person is dancing as if nobody is watching. There is a sense of freedom in this process which carries the seeds of great joy as energy flows more freely through the systems of these organic moving figures. They have the chance to let go, to transform whatever it is in them that needs to move.

I am feeling enormous gratitude and a lot of excitement at the possibilities that are opening up for my shared future with my Beloved. We can work together and play together and generally have a good time while helping to birth the new age of humanity, who said that change couldn’t be fun!

And that my friends is all I have to say at the moment, there is much to think upon. I never get tired of this quote from Gabrielle Roth:

“If you put the body in motion, you will change. You are meant to move: from flowing to staccato, through chaos into lyric and back into the stillness from which all movement comes………..The spirit in motion heals, expands, circles in and out of the body, moving us through the layers of consciousness from inertia to ecstasy. Open to the spirit, and you will be transformed.”

Time To Rock From Ignorance To Bliss!

shpongle tributeI’m listening to Shpongle doing “Once Upon The Sea Of Blissful Awareness”, if you missed it then please check out my last post where you will find the link, oh what the hell I’m feeling generous, here’s the link again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAQkxJ4zHh4

soul artIn that particular post I made the suggestion that you take the time to truly listen to the music with your entire being, body, mind and soul. You might find that moving your body helps you to really ‘know’ the music at the deepest level possible, it is most definitely meditation and your response can be as fluid as it needs to be. Complete stillness may be what you require at times, listen to the body’s communications and journeys can come from the simplest of things, like hearing music or the sounds of nature, gazing into the eyes of another soul. The best things in life are generally not commodities, you wouldn’t think that from seeing what goes on in the first world.

Life itself is devalued when we move out of balance with a system that we are an integral part of even though there are some who seem determined to maintain ignorance on that subject, unfortunately they tend to be the ones ‘governing’ our country. There are places where people do behave with respect for the environment and each other, my town is a long way from perfect just like me but I am strongly reminded of how different we are when I go to the city. It is possible to change the way that you think and it can happen in so many different ways, the more of us who do it the easier it becomes for everyone else.

So keep rocking on with your spiritual, physical, mental and emotional bodies as the vital vortex that is life takes you in a quantum dance into the future, baby it is time to ROCK!

Here is of all people, Tom Cruise, rocking it on big time in the movie “Rock of Ages”, if you haven’t seen it, it’s an awesome films with great performances, Tom Cruise is the Rock God, the guy can really act! And Alec Baldwin and Russel Brand make the most delightful couple.

Once Upon The Sea Of Blissful Awareness.

Ayahuasca image 4I only just remembered that I am supposed to write a post for tonight! I am in a space of no-time with my Beloved and I completely forgot what day it was, that is true relaxation. So I am going to honour that lovely place that has no deadlines by staying there and making this the shortest post I have ever published.

So I offer you a little exercise if you fancy it, this piece of music gives a sense of where my consciousness is floating at this moment, in the sea of love, of life. Turn it up and listen in the most relaxed space that you are able to achieve at this time, let the music take you deeper in to your body and if it feels good maybe even move your body. Imagine that every part of your body is listening to the music, not just your ears but every part of your physical being!

And surrender to the ocean of bliss that is the life we were born to live!

Altered States Of Experience.

formula oneNavigating different realities, my Beloved is studying transpersonal counselling and he has been talking about mapping the various states of consciousness that we move through in the course of a day. I’ve always been fascinated by altered states, it was that aspect of Formula One that appealed to me when I followed the sport rather intensely for about seven years. Seem strange? Not really when you think about it, there is no way someone could take a corner at the impossibly high speeds that they do in an everyday state of consciousness.

There are as many ways of attaining various states as there are people, some of the best known would be meditation, yoga, vision quest, dance and drumming……the list goes on and on. And there have been people using the medicine of the plant kingdom to facilitate journeys for as long as we are aware of, a blink in the cosmic eye but for human perception long enough! Ayahuasca is a better known plant medicine that has been part of the traditions of people in the Amazon, it is a spiritual practice that they shared with the world and it is reported to help immensely with spiritual development.

transparent-bodies-moving1Moving my body in the dance has been an important way of shifting realities for me, you allow your whole body to become the music so that it is playing through you. This takes you into the perspective of your larger self, the one who is conscious of the interconnectedness of all things, that can see the interplay of energies as life goes on. Toning also has been a wonderful way of going into the space of unified consciousness, sound is incredibly powerful and has often been a part of various therapies I have experienced.

So find a method that appeals to you, with so much choice you are sure to find something that helps you to open to the divine within your self, and therefore everything that you are connected to, which is everything! If that statement is  a bit of a mystery to you then it’s probably time to dive on in, your larger self may have drawn you to read these words for a reason.

Do you know why? Would it be intriguing to find out? Time for an adventure in the inner realms!

There can be no better start to such a journey as the experience of listening to Terence McKenna, plus some amazing images, enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rufFWxvZ0U

Festival Time Brings Sustenance For The Soul.

Scottish strains infuse the air as the lightning flashes and the rain comes down, a passerby is captured by the urge to jig as she gambols along the path. Jalapeno pepper still warming my belly and my lips, thinking of my lover as a young couple canoodle in the shelter of the awning. One moment of so many and not quite even halfway through, so many riches to draw upon, legs still a bit sore from last night’s dancing. Another world, another time, family and community all wrapped up in one, world music, social issues, fun and frivolity, from the sacred to the profane it’s a well sauced sandwich that satisfies the soul.

As I settle into the Woodford groove that is the magical merging of so much diversity, I find myself doing the strange etherial shuffle between no-time and the time that says that Ohm Shanti is doing their thing at the Blue Lotus, or the candle lighting ceremony at the Sacred Labyrinth is on at 6.30pm. I move in and out of varying threads from which I weave the tapestry of an experience too complex for just one image to encompass, it’s more like a film, the kind you can watch over and over again and still see new detail.

And then there is the address of my campsite, I am between Route 66 and Your own crazy way, just down from Absolutely the wrong way! To get there you go along the Long and winding road, it really is another world and one I would like to live in all the time. I am reminded of a Swiss woman who came into our stall when mum and I used to sell clothes and party stuff at the festival, she had been picked up from the airport by friends and brought straight to Woodford. It was her first experience of being in Australia and she was wide-eyed with wonder, she turned to us and said, “Is it like this everywhere?” We smiled and said, “Oh, how we wish it was!”

That is my wish, that all the world may wake up to the beauty and wonder that is life on this planet, the diversity amongst peoples, plants, animals and everything else is quite astounding and fills my heart and soul with such joy!

Ohm Shanti, shanti, shanti…………peace, peace, peace.

Weaving The Threads At Woodford: A Unique Experience!

When you’re at a festival that goes for six days and offers just about every kind of music you could think of, multiple stages with workshops covering politics, environment, body, mind, and spirit, dance and song, it just isn’t possible to see everything you’re interested in. I got a pretty good system going with my highlighter pen but you have to leave room for unexpected surprises too and keep your ear to the ground to hear what other people have been discovering.

It took me the first three days to really sink down through the layers and truly inhabit the state of consciousness that is the Woodford Folk Festival, I will do my best to convey something of what that means but in the end you probably need to come and have the experience for yourself to truly ‘get’ it. I saw it as all these different threads where each person takes the parts that they are drawn to and weaves their own unique and magical experience, letting your intuition guide you is a sure way of being in the flow and that’s how I found the impressive singer songwriter from Canada, Mo Kenney.

Mo Kenney.

Mo Kenney.

She is an androgynous figure, very quietly spoken but with a huge stage presence and a very dry sense of humour, since looking her up online I’ve discovered she is only 23 years old, makes her even more impressive! I’m sure I wasn’t anywhere as mature as that at the same age but then I can probably be safely classed as a late bloomer, better late than never I say! The first time I saw her she finished her set with a David Bowie song I hadn’t heard in years, “Five Years”, what a fantastic version of an awesome song, Bowie would love it I’m sure.

Here is the song in question as well as one of her own, hope you enjoy them as much as I did! “Five Years”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFAytrmxghs and “Sucker”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZfDKeYjct8
