Paying Attention.

The balance is very fine for me at the moment, two nights of not enough sleep and the addition of some intensive study into an already busy schedule and I find myself with a cold having another go at me. After a heavenly sleep last night I woke early and could feel that my body was not feeling strong at all, scratchy throat and runny nose still going on. So I decided to practice the meditation from yesterdays seminar and to check in with my higher-self as to the wisdom of going to a vigorous yoga class, especially as I have an overnight shift this evening. I got the answer I expected which was don’t go, hate to miss a class but the message from my body is very clear, I would have to be a complete idiot to miss it. Truth be told I didn’t even really have to ask in the meditation, that was simply confirmation of what I already knew.

Mystic_Wolf

How often do we ignore these communications from our bodies and from the realm of spirit? If you are looking they are everywhere, in my last counselling session I had wolf come to me as a totem so I had a bit of a look at its symbolism. There are a whole range of meanings but the one that struck me today is that they represent listening to your inner voice, sensitivity and strong psychic abilities. And the other animal that came in was the Owl which is also strongly linked to extra sensory perceptions.  Now I do work as a psychic so no surprises there, but it also reflected the process I had just taken myself through in deciding whether or not to go to yoga.

If you aren’t familiar with listening to these signals it may require some practice to be able to interpret the messages but it is so worth the investment of time and energy. And there will still be times when you are not sure, no matter how good you become at tuning in. That is the mystery which will always be present as long as we allow ourselves to remain open to life in all its wonder, and the world really is such a wonderful place!

From Twilight To Joy!

The twilight world hath beckoned me in from the bright sunlight realms where I am wont to spend my time, it reminds me that wherever there is light, there will also be shadow. You cannot have the one without the other, to deny any part of this design is to deny it all, and so I surrender to my own darkness, even as I set the boundaries firm against incursions from without. For I am sovereign in my own inner space, none may come here save that they be invited.

I am soft and my heart is boundless, I look inside the self that I be and I become lost in the great distances that I find there. It’s like a great cavern that goes on forever, full of treasures, some well-known and others waiting to be discovered. How could I ever be lost or feel small when there is such bounty within? This is perhaps the greatest mystery of human kind, that we should look so intently outside of ourselves, for the fulfillment that lies in quite the opposite direction.

Righteous anger gives me the strength to do the tasks that have been appointed to me, even as compassion keeps me in my heart, there are some kinds of darkness that must be dealt with, so that the integrity of the world may be restored. I do not judge, nor am I the executioner, at the end of the day I hand over to a higher power and then it is no business of mine.

I am weary, but this will pass, and I will rise even stronger for the travails that I have passed through. And always there is joy, beneath all the rest, love and joy and bliss are running always, inviting me to come and play, to dance and sing in the sun’s brightest ray!

The Burning Of The Feminine.

Somewhere between ecstasy and despair lies the deepest peace, as they say in the bible, the peace that passeth all understanding, it is the place where there is no thought. And where there is no thought there can be no reason to suffer, it is a stillness that holds us without judgement, a place where we can experience complete and unconditional acceptance of who we be. In all our glory and magnificence, with all our warts and dis-ease, the shadow and the light can be together without shame, becoming whole, and in that process an integration occurs that transforms our egoic small selves into something large and mysterious.

To get to this place we must be prepared to journey to the furthest reaches of delight and to the deepest pits of the darkest hell, knowing all this time that it is our own creation, all of it. As I take responsibility for my own manifestation in all it’s light and shade, like a coat of many colours or a multi faceted crystal, I feel a sense of liberation. The lighter I become the easier it will be for my newly formed wings to rise and catch the wind, to lift me from the life lived in half measures, to the fullness of the starry starry night. The moon smiles at me and invites me for  a visit, she holds a vision of my transformation that comes from the deep and mysterious realms of the feminine soul, that hard softness that will save the world if we let it.

Please take a look at the beautiful images that accompany this version of The Burning Times, that period in history when the feminine was under intense attack from all sides, particularly from the catholic church.
